In the spring, CPHR Alberta asked our membership for HR professionals to share their experiences and challenges with our community. With over 6,000 members, one of our greatest strengths is knowledge sharing. There is great value in hearing one another's stories and learning and supporting through the challenges that you all share as HR professionals. Although scenarios may be unique to geographic region or industry, we can still listen, learn, and grow from our peers' trials and success.
This summer, CPHR Alberta volunteer Ada Tai, MBA, CPHR, SHRM-SCP conducted short interviews with members who reached out willing to share their experiences as employers. The goal of each interview was to:
Give exposure to employers in the Alberta community and across different industries
Highligh employers' best practices/challenges etc. in various locations
Creating HR community building and broaden learning opportunities for members
The Vlog is presented in a short dialogue format between the host – Ada Tai, and our guest - Kyanna Prazma, HR Manager for Horse Lake First Nation. In this Vlog, Kyanna shares her unique experience of managing the HR functions at a First Nations community, without being a First Nation member herself. You will also learn about how compensation structure is set up at a First Nation community, and how her role has evolved during the pandemic in a smaller location.
The Vlog is presented in a short dialogue format between the host – Ada Tai, and our guest– Sarah Casorso, HR Manager for ECO Canada. In this Vlog, Sarah discusses how she and the leadership team at ECO Canada were able to achieve a higher than 80% employee engagement score, and how they continuously develop their employees through building a strong workplace culture. Don’t miss the part where she shares her inspiring career story.
