Lisa Watson

Lisa is a former lawyer and HR Executive with over 25 years of experience in public, private and not for profit companies spanning energy, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing and mining. Lisa started her career as a commercial litigator in Australia, then specializing in employment and labour law before transitioning into HR. Most recently, Lisa was Vice President, HR & Corporate Services for Crescent Point Energy , Chief People Officer at Bethany Care Society, and Sr Director, Total Rewards at Agrium (now Nutrien) before pivoting into HR consulting and focusing on her board journey. Lisa is pursuing her ICD.D designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors, and is the current Board Chair of CPHR Alberta. She has been on the CPHR Alberta board since May 2020, and recently joined the Governance Committee of Silvera for Seniors, a not for profit provider of housing, services and supports for independent seniors in Calgary. Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), a member of the Law Society of Alberta, CPHR Alberta , and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
