We’ve spent the last two years carrying out improvements across many areas of the organization. Results this year are a reflection of our commitment to listen to Member concerns and bring value to your membership. Compared to our 2016 Member survey, we are more knowledgeable, effective, organized, and stable, and our satisfaction rating is now superb!
Almost 40% of our Members completed the survey and we thank you for your participation. With almost 90% of our respondents stating that they are proud to be a CPHR Alberta Member and that they would recommend a CPHR Alberta Membership to their colleagues, it looks like we’re on the right track. Here are some of the highlights:
Many of you showed that your level of education has had a significant impact on the advancement of your career in HR. Delivering on post-secondary professional development and executive level continuing education has been on our agenda to keep Members engaged and learning. We’re proud to introduce a dedicated Post-Secondary Professional Development Directory on CPHRab.ca
Many respondents have said that it is necessary or recommended that their HR professionals hold the CPHR designation, though some respondents have said their organizations do not require this designation. We’re working to grow this. In 2019, CPHR Alberta will be building a larger recognition and respect for the designation, association and profession.
Respondents have said they would like to see briefings on provincial human rights commission in the next 3-5 years. Research and resource information on new legislation and HR trends, issues and professional standards and practices are an important part of your CPHR Alberta Membership. We are responding with a focus on these areas by engaging with the business community and government to prepare our Members for success and bring you the most up to date information on our industry.
Our CHPR Alberta Job Source continues to be a valuable resource to our Members with our HR trends report and HR law conferences following close behind. Good news: our HR Law Conferences, which are always popular with Members, have been extended to the Wood Buffalo Chapter. Watch for notices of these going out in your newsletters.
We strive as staff members at CPHR Alberta to be accessible to each of our Members and we’re grateful for your continued support. We are honored to be your Member Association and the voice of the HR profession in Alberta, NWT and Nunavut. With a clear vision and strategy, and with your engagement, we will continue to be influential in shaping the future and the direction of the HR profession.
