Over the past two years, we have had the opportunity to adapt and learn in new ways. At the CPHR Alberta Annual Conference, we will host one central event with two different, yet, connected experiences. CPHR Alberta will be hosting our very first hybrid-style annual conference.

This year we will be focusing our sessions on the current challenges faced by HR professionals amidst the new normal and how their HR strategy plays a crucial role in keeping employees informed, engaged and ready for the future.

Do you have the knowledge, skills, and tools to support HR professionals as they respond to the current challenges of our “new normal”? Then we want to hear from you!

We are looking for topic experts to give a 60-minute concurrent session to HR professionals within a variety of sectors at multiple levels. Our goal is to address current and emerging trends that align with our new competency framework. This framework includes 2 categories of competencies: HR Specific Competencies and General Competencies.

The HR Specific Competencies are capabilities that define an HR professional. They are categorized into 9 HR Competency Areas which in turn comprise 49 HR Specific Competencies.

The General Competencies include capabilities that an HR professional should possess to operate successfully in their professional practice and are not specific to the HR profession. They are categorized into 12 General Competency Areas which in turn comprise 48 General Competencies.

I became a member of CPHR even before moving to Canada in July 2023. It was my way of getting a head start, learning how HR works here, connecting with professionals in the field, and preparing myself to step into the workforce with more confidence. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I made!
