"Being recognized as a Fellow of Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (FCPHR) is deeply humbling and moving. To be named among just 16 Albertans to receive this honour is something I never anticipated, and I accept it with deep gratitude and reflection.

This recognition is not mine alone, it’s shared with every person who has walked this journey with me. The mentors who offered wisdom, the colleagues who challenged and inspired me, the community leaders who made space for me to serve, and the HR and business professionals who placed their trust and confidence in me. Their belief and encouragement have shaped every step of this path.

During the award ceremony, several people shared that seeing someone with a background or identity like theirs receive this honour gave them hope, that who they are will not be a barrier to how far they can go. That moment touched me deeply."

"I was honoured and humbled to be recognized as a FCPHR. I became involved at the ground level to establish our HR profession to be recognized with a professional designation. This was our Vision. I was passionate that our profession be elevated to a professional status so that we could be involved at the strategic level and in boardrooms of an organization and in the business community. I am extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication  by so many of my colleagues that allowed us to be recognized as a profession. This was a proud achievement and milestone of our profession. Our work is not done, our profession will continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our organization, business partners and the clients we serve. A CPHR professional designation will help us meet the challenges and opportunities down the road. It's a journey, not a destination!"
