CPHR Alberta Candidate Members have either successfully passed the National Knowledge Exam ® (NKE) or completed an HR program at an accredited institution and had their NKE requirement waived. Upon successful approval of the Experience Validation Assessment, Candidates in good standing with their provincial HR association are granted the CPHR designation and moved to the Chartered Membership category.

Note: CPHR candidates have ten years from the time they pass the NKE to successfully submit an Experience Validation Assessment that meets the criteria for the experience requirement. Candidates must keep their membership active (in good standing) with their provincial HR association to maintain their CPHR Candidate status. Where applicable, Candidates are required to provide proof of post-secondary degree credentials. Please refer to the Registration Manual or contact us for additional guidance on becoming a CPHR.
