Specialized Events for Executive Members

Senior members asked for peer-focused events to address up and coming HR issues, and share solutions to challenges their organizations have faced. If you hold a Director-level or more senior role in your organization and would like to attend, then email us today about an invite to the next upcoming event.

Executive Breakfasts

These quarterly events bring 15-20 executives together for an early morning session. Participants hear from a subject matter expert on a focused topic, then the conversation opens to a round table conversation. These popular events take place in central Edmonton and Calgary.

Walk & Talk Program - Help a new HR pro in one afternoon

What if you could have avoided some of your biggest career roadblocks? Looking back, would a candid conversation with a senior HR leader have helped you in the years you were starting out?

After the successful launch of our Walk & Talk pilot project in summer 2019, we've decided to continue the program in 2020!

The Walk & Talk program is a one-time, two-hour meeting between senior HR leaders and HR students who are members of CPHR Alberta. It's a chance to offer your career insights and help a future HR professional accelerate their career. It's a condensed volunteer opportunity, ideal for busy professionals, and earns you two CPD hours.

As an Executive participant I was able to give back to a profession that has been very good to me. It was great to connect with and share experience and perspectives with a new Canadian as well as a new to HR professional. I was challenged by her thoughtful questions and by her preparation for our session. It was a great meeting!

-Senior leader, summer 2019 program participant

…I was not sure what to expect but I have to say it was an incredibly rewarding experience! What a wonderful opportunity to meet an enthusiastic student of human resources and be able to share some of my own insights while getting to know them better. I certainly hope this continues in the future!...
