She also brings to the client advanced certification in Board Governance with an Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D). In June of 2005, she left her position as VP of Human Resources for United Farmers of Alberta and in 2006, incorporated Salopek & Associates Ltd.

I offer more than 28 years of Human Resources experience in the public and industrial sectors in northern Alberta and B.C., in union and non-union environments. My career began as a Regional Personnel Manager with the Alberta Government, moved to Canadian Forest Products Ltd. (Canfor) in B.C. and Alberta as HR Coordinator. Finally, as Executive Director at Grande Prairie Regional College I lead the HR Department, assisted the Board in hiring its President and successfully managed two mergers prior to starting my own consulting business.
Our founder, Joy Monsma, holds a Masters of Business Administration in Community Economic Development and has over 25 years of practical experience. She is trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt, has trained Green Belts, and holds Prosci Change Management Certification. Joy has held senior positions with Fortune 500 companies and taught at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and The King’s University.
